Martirano and Tomblin Visit Logan County Schools back button

Logan County Schools had two special guests on Friday, September 14, 2015, as Governor Early Ray Tomblin and West Virginia Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael Martirano visited the county. Dr. Martirano made his first stop to South Man Elementary School where he visited several classrooms to talk to students about the importance of attending school regularly for academic success. Both Martirano and Governor Tomblin then visited Chapmanville Regional High School.

CRHS Senior Class President Austin Workman and senior officers Haley Wilburn, Caleb Price, and Kaylee Farmer led the guests on a tour of the school and discussed some of the new programs and classes at CRHS including the teacher cadet program, business classes, and JRTOC. Martirano and Tomblin spoke to students about the “My State, My Life” program and opportunities for continuing education after high school.

The visit was a part of Dr. Martirano’s “One Voice” tour where he will visit all 55 counties in the state to tour schools and have the opportunity to talk to students.
