Hugh Dingess Elementary has been awarded with the highest attendance for the eighth month of school in the 2014-2015 year.
Hugh Dingess wins the award with a daily attendance rate of 93.92 percent for its 106 students. This is the first time Hugh Dingess has won the award, but the school finished in second place earlier this year. Principal Sammy Dalton said the teachers and staff have really made a push for attendance by talking to students and parents about the importance of coming to school regularly.
Buffalo Elementary came in second place for the eighth month of school with 93.88 percent, and Holden Elementary finished third for the second-straight month with 93.83 percent.
As a part of its “Every Student, Every Day” attendance awareness campaign, Logan County Schools will recognize the school with the highest attendance rate each month. The winning school will receive the monthly attendance trophy to display until the next winner is announced.
