Richard Ojeda, a senior at Logan High School, was recently named the school’s 2015 Poetry Out Loud winner.
LHS fine arts chairman Andrea Santos said she was very pleased with this year’s compeitition.“I am overwhelmed by the talent, integrity, and extraordinary class that all the participants represent.”
Lindsey Gore, an LHS sophomore, was named runner-up for the competition. Additional participants included: Corey France, Lexi Morgan, and Hunter Napier. Staff assisting with the competition included: Laura Tracy Baisden, Libby Jo Salyers, Jason McPeak, Lynn Woods Mahon, Cynthia Ooten, Julianna Dardi, and Tom Ballard.
This year’s winner will advance to the WV Poetry Out Loud competition on March 6 and 7, 2015, in Charleston.
