The Logan County Board of Education held a special meeting on Thursday, January 15, 2015, to discuss the county’s upcoming audit and approve the Logan County Strategic Plan.
Logan County Schools received a county-wide audit from OEPA in April of last year. Once results were received, the county implemented a highly-detailed corrective action plan to address the findings. A follow-up audit will be conducted at the end of the month.
Assistant Superintendent Mary Lu MacCorkle gave a brief presentation highlighting the details of the strategic plan and the audit. She assured board members the schools and central office have worked diligently and vigorously to prepare for the OEPA visit.
All principals and directors for Logan County Schools were in attendance and gave brief confirmations that schools and the central office are prepared and confident going into the audit. Findings from the previous audit have been addressed, and the county is proactively working toward correcting all findings.
The board members thanked everyone for the time and effort put in to preparing for the OEPA visit and said all of the hard work will be evident.
The next regularly-scheduled board meeting will be Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 6:00 PM at the Ralph R. Willis Career and Technical Center. Agendas and minutes for all BOE meetings can be found on the district’s website: www.logancountyschoolswv.com.
