Seniors at Logan High School participated in a real-life lesson in voting during the peak of election season. Civics teachers Kelly Bennett Adkins, Jennifer Stillwell, and Randy Robinette collaborated with the Logan County Clerk's office to hold a mock election.
Prior to the election, students studied sample ballots and researched each candidate while lessons focused on propaganda and political issues. In addition to casting a vote, students served as poll workers to allow them to become comfortable with the voting process.
Thirty-two seniors at LHS were eligible and registered to vote in this year's general election.
LHS would like to thank John Turner and his staff at the Logan County Clerk's office for providing vital resources to understanding civics.
